At NewCity we see the creative arts as an integral part of a life of worship. The very act of engaging with creativity is an opportunity to worship the Creator God. Some of us may be gifted artists called to use our skills professionally to point the world to God’s beauty, goodness, and truth. Some of us simply enjoy the opportunity the arts afford us to get to know more about our Creator, to engage with the world he made, and to know and be known by our fellow image bearers. Whether professionally or just for enjoyment, we engage with the creative arts with freedom and joy, knowing we were made in the image of the ultimate creator: God himself.

We also see all the creative arts as providing opportunities to live out the core values of NewCity: Doxology, Family, Philanthropy. Whether through evenings of worship where we meditate on our God through Scripture and song, or multigenerational workshops where we create visual art that proclaims God’s story, or through performance arts events that engage our broader community, we seek to grow in worship, in relationship, and in service to our community.
